The Prison Mine

[This book may only be purchased as a Kindle book through Amazon or paperback on Amazon or Create Space.]

The concept for this book was derived from the last storyline in Johnny Ringo – Bounty Hunter: 1884 Part I. Several persons who read that book remarked that they would be interested in learning exactly how the prison mine got started and something about each of the prisoners, so I wrote this book.

The story begins shortly after the Civil War in a small town in New Mexico Territory.  Jacob Markham and Joe Montgomery have a silver mine.  The silver mine is just barely making enough money to survive.  Montgomery leaves and Markham, who used to be the commandant of a Confederate prisoner of war camp, turns the mine into a private prison.

Markham’s rich friends pay a significant fee for him to put people in the prison mine at hard labor for life.

The book looks at each client’s motivation for putting that person in the prison mine.  It also examines how the Max Knight gang, who has been hired by Markham, captures each prisoner and transports them to the prison mines.

Storylines/Subplots:
1. The beginning of Silverton – Chapter 1
2. The conversion of the mine into a prison – Chapters 2 - 6
3. Capturing the prisoners – Chapters 7 - 36
4. The end of the prison mine – Chapters 37 - 42
